Kent County is a county located in the central part of the U.S. state of Delaware. As of the 2010 census, the population was 162,310, making it the least populous county in Delaware, but also the most populous county to be the least populous in its state.[1] The county seat is Dover, the state capital of Delaware. It is named for Kent, an English county.

Kent County Public Library – Kent County Public Library provides dynamic services to the residents of Kent County, MD at its three branches, which are located in the towns of Chestertown, Galena, and Rock Hall.

Kent County Sheriff’s Office – The function of the Sheriff’s Office  is to service the Citizens of Kent County by performing many functions for the State of Delaware Courts (Superior Court, Court of Common Pleas, U.S. District Court and the Court of Chancery).  The Sheriff’s Office serves legal notices to include (subpoenas, levies, summons, etc.)  Additionally, the Sheriff’s Office auctions real estate in accordance with the Delaware Code.

The Historical Society of Kent County – The Historical Society of Kent County museum features window exhibits and interior museum exhibits, which change quarterly.  The museum also contains our extensive collection of local family genealogies and a long-term exhibit of 18th and 19th century tea caddies. The window exhibits, which flank our front door at 301 High Street, are always open. Our museum is open on Wednesday and Thursday, 11am to 2pm, and Saturday, 10am to 1pm.
